Sakaya

Sakaya.co is on a mission to keep Japanese sake culture alive by connecting sake breweries directly with consumers around the world. By cutting out unnecessary steps in the supply chain, they ensure everyone involved gets fair value, while making sure customers receive the freshest, most authentic sake possible, exactly as its makers intended.

Our mission

Our Hong Kong-based web design team collaborated with Sakaya.co's own designer to build a custom Odoo theme, delivering a clean and modern e-commerce experience tailored to the brand. The client's designer led the creative direction for the homepage, while the Odoo design team brought the full vision to life across the platform. While the site leverages Odoo's standard features, several custom enhancements were added, including a dedicated page for local merchants in Hong Kong and the UK, improved product cards, and a new mega menu with tabbed navigation and a brewery directory.

On the frontend, the platform serves as a global e-commerce destination for Japanese sake and shochu. On the backend, Odoo powers an integrated system covering sales management, inventory tracking, and connectivity with a fulfillment platform, including dropshipping capabilities. Together, these two layers deliver both the polished customer-facing experience and the operational infrastructure Sakaya.co needs to scale.

01

Custom Nav & Mega Menu

The website features a fully custom navigation system, including a mega menu with tabbed sections built directly into the main navigation, alongside a burger menu providing quick access to additional pages. This structure makes it easy for visitors to explore the full depth of the platform without feeling overwhelmed, creating a smooth and intuitive browsing experience.

02

Enhanced Shop & Product Pages

The shop and product pages have been redesigned from the ground up to put the sake bottles front and center. The new custom layout highlights each product visually while also surfacing key information about the producers and importers behind them, giving customers both an appealing shopping experience and a deeper connection to the origins of each bottle.

03

Breweries Directory & Blog

A dedicated breweries directory and blog section have been introduced to immerse visitors in the world of sake. Users can discover and learn about breweries from across Japan, while the blog serves as an ongoing resource for stories, culture, and expertise, reinforcing Sakaya.co's commitment to educating and connecting sake enthusiasts worldwide.
